Department OverviewCome join us at Motorola Solutions on the Command Central Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) team. Working as a contributing member of an advanced software development team using modern techniques, you will help drive solutions in the cloud to some of the largest 911 centers in the United States and around the world. Work as Software Engineering Manager of an advanced software development team using modern software development techniques to produce world-class public safety software. You will help drive solutions in the cloud to some of the largest 911 centers in the United States and around the world. Our products allow customers to respond effectively in mission-critical operating environments and we’re looking for world-class innovative and motivated Engineering Manager in leading a team building software and systems that truly make a difference. This role will focus on the development of applications for strong repeatability and resiliency in the Azure cloud.
Lead a team designing, developing, and maintaining software applications following established standards, procedures, and specifications.
Coach the team, foster agile philosophy, provide guidance to the team that are clear and simple
Coach the team on developing automated test cases
Collaborate with stakeholders, participate in group discussions by expressing thoughts and ideas clearly.
Along with leadership team, provide business perspective to the team so that they understand the business goals clearly
Provide updates to leadership team on team progress, risks and issues by effective use of dashboards and charts
Self driven, high energy, highly innovative person with a positive attitude
Effectively collaborate with technical leaders in a multi-team environment
Demonstrate flexibility and resilience in the face of changing priorities and requirements
Strong background in software development; experience (C# and .Net technologies).
Good experience on MS SQL or Azure SQL.
Knowledge of Azure services, Azure DevOps, GitHub, K8s
Understanding of object oriented coding and design, SOLID principles. Participate in code reviews and feedback.
Good understanding of CI/CD frameworks
Experience with Agile software development practices. Experience in building and managing scrum/agile teams.
Work effectively with a geographically dispersed cross-functional team.
Knowledge of Azure Cloud services (or other like AWS, Google Cloud), GitHub, K8s
Support and triage issues with customer integration teams under minimum supervision.
Should be able to summarize findings in a clear manner through the use of reports and other written artifacts.
BS in Computer Science (or related technical equivalent).
3+ years of leading Software Development teams
