The Test Engineer – Electronics is an agile, efficient problem solver who will support the growing Rolls-Royce test team responsible for production of electronics components for aerospace applications, including Electronic Engineer Controls (EECs). Responsibilities of the Test Engineer will support the development, validation, and sustainment to implement test capability as required for the hardware and software test platforms. This is a new role in a growing MA&T team which is responsible for standing up capability for US Made Electronics in support of critical RR Defense customers. This role will be based at Rolls-Royce west Lafayette, IN but will be supportive of flexible working arrangements.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Creation of test plans and procedures
  • Supporting electronics production acceptance test (PAT) rigs to ensure day-today-operations and productions schedules are met
  • Managing deliverables and relationships with 3rd party vendors
  • Support new product introduction through design and fabrication of new electronics test rigs
  • Developing and updating software to run test equipment
  • Working with internal project stakeholders to define test requirements for new products
  • Travel as required to support strategy and projects, including to RR Indianapolis location

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science with one year of experience
  • Experience with electronics or software system testing, verification
  • Familiarity with hardware in the loop testing
  • Must be a US Citizen to be considered for this role

Preferred Requirements:

  • LabView, TestStand, C/C++, Python, and Matlab Simulink
  • Experience in aerospace electronics product development or manufacturing
  • Experience working with 3rd party test equipment providers
