The Global Data Center Connectivity (GDCC) Site Lead will be responsible for multiple simultaneous low voltage and fiber optic cabling projects from inception through the handover to production. The GDCC Site Lead will be the primary technical expert overseeing both the project management and design installation during construction. After production turnover, the Site Lead will become the operations resource for telecommunications issues and deployments. The Lead is a liaison, accountable for internal partnerships and relationships within Facebook, our on-site contractor, and other data centers globally and is highly collaborative with cross-functional partners at the Data Center.

Required SkillsSite Lead, Global Data Center Connectivity Responsibilities:
  • Leadership - Accountable for team culture of partnership enabling the development of others and represents the GDCC pillar at the circle of leadership
  • Technical Ability - Serve as the Subject Matter Expert on the project management, deployment and technical installation/operations of telecommunications infrastructure across all media types
  • Contingent Workforce Management - Manage a contingent workforce responsible for delivering capacity and operational support based upon Facebook’s contractual agreements
  • Communication - Proactively communicate site status and risks locally and globally within GDCC, cross functionally, and with vendor partner leadership
  • Collaboration - Coordinate and partner effectively with design, construction, network, operations, and other teams on site and at headquarters
  • Program/Project Management - Removing risks and blockers for teams to help assure the delivery of a portfolio of structured cabling and connectivity projects, on time, within budget
  • Operational Service Level Agreements - Assure rapid Service Delivery Agreements (SLAs) for operational requests and break-fixes in a hyperscale environment, assuring data center reliability and uptime
  • Risk Management - Proactively manage and communicate site risks and mitigation plans
  • Financial Management - Oversee site financial forecasts, budgets, and controls
  • Vendor Management - Coordinate with logistics partners to ensure a smooth end to end flow of materials as needed
  • Quality - Implementation of the GDCC global quality program to ensure all work is completed to global quality standards prior to turnover, while ensuring delivery of site as-builts and documentation
  • Continuous Improvement - Proactively identify and develop local and global improvements for team, product, processes, and tooling/automation
  • Key Performance Indicators - Employ Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and GDCC dashboards to drive measurable improvements
Minumum QualificationMinimum Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in data centers, mission critical structured cabling installations, or colocation environments
  • 5+ years of experience overseeing vendors with a proven track record of delivering large-scale projects on time, within budget, and to applicable standards
  • Experience in materials management, bill of materials review, and materials tracking
  • Organizational and coordination experience in a mission critical environment
  • Experience reviewing and leading installations to design documents and specifications
  • Experience with reporting and financial management tracking of site level project updates, progress, variances, and forecasts
  • Experience working with a variety of stakeholders with different objectives
  • Knowledge of telecom industry standards, codes, and safety regulations
Preferred QualificationPreferred Qualifications:
  • PMP Certification
  • BCSI RCDD Certification
  • Experience in operations in network switching, routing, and design
  • Experience tracking and forecasting budget needs
