Why Power Interface?

The Power Interface (PI) business is one of the fastest growing analog mixed-signal businesses within TI. We are developing leading edge ICs that provide power through USB Type-C, and other protocols. Many of the chips include ARM M0 processor subsystem, and integrated power paths. Our ICs are used in some of the most game-changing consumer products on the market. This business is highly visible. We're searching for Digital design engineer who have the passion and excitement to grow, innovate and execute USB-PD Controller design with 100-300K gates of digital, ARM M0+ with peripherals on AHB bus, memory macros, >1000 signals on the analog/digital boundary, take an active role in product definition with system team, drive with backend team for digital characterization until ramp to market.

As a Senior Digital Designer on the Power Interface team you will be responsible for USB PD controller for the consumer, industrial, and automotive industries. USB PD is continuously evolving, members of PI are chairs or contributors to USB PD and USB4 specifications along with MCM architecture in the works.

Preferred Digital Design Skills:

  • Knowledge of ARM processor with AHB interface
  • Strong digital fundamentals (clock switching and gating, synchronization, serial interfaces, Lint and CDC analysis)
  • Experience with synthesis, constraints, and timing closure
  • Familiarity with verilog and systemVerilog for design
  • Simulation Debug capability

Minimum requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field of study

Preferred qualifications:

  • A thorough understanding of digital logic design
  • Familiarity with the Verilog language and simulators
  • A good understanding of analog functionality and exposure to analog IC design methods
  • Ability to solve problems using a systematic approach
  • Experience with System Verilog
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
  • Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
  • Validation experience a plus
