About the Job

Texas Instruments (TI) is looking for an experienced Facilities Engineer that will be responsible for the airborne molecular contamination (AMC) program worldwide. This engineer will be directly responsible worldwide working with all the manufacturing sites for their AMC programs and reports in to Worldwide Facilities (WWF). This is for both the wafer fabs and the assembly test sites. These systems are designed to run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without interruption. The WWF team works closely with TI’s other facilities sustaining organizations and manufacturing teams to understand how the facilities utility systems impact the process quality, reliability, and safety as well as how to reduce consumption.

Responsibilities & qualifications include:

  • Manage and maintain multiple wafer fab AMC routine programs.
  • Manage team of skilled contractors that support the AMC analysis programs of manufacturing sites.
  • Support TI AMC teams, wafer fabs & AT sites globally as technical lead.
  • SME of ion mobility spectrometry, specifically Particle Measuring Systems Airsentry II. This includes analysis functions, zeroing and spanning of the instruments as well as troubleshooting.
  • Problem solving dealing directly with wafers in process impacted by potential AMC and the ability to recommend analysis methods to identify the compound / compounds.
  • Review and understand potential impact of products foreign to the cleanroom environment and provide knowledgeable recommendations for using or not using the product in the wafer fab along with what precautions should be taken if product is used in the fab.
  • Provide AMC consultation as technical lead to Mfg team engineers across TI to assist in troubleshooting of process issues.
  • Devise analysis methods and procedures for simulations or experiment based testing to solve issues in semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Awareness of the latest instrumentation for AMC analysis with the ability to test such new instruments for potential purchase recommendations.
  • Understanding of chemicals and gases utilized in the manufacturer of semiconductors and their reactions and decomposition potentials to produce harmful AMC byproducts.
  • Understanding of Auger, EDX, XPS, STM and other various industry standard lab analysis methods.
  • Knowledge of the following analytical methods & the ability to interpret results: ToF-SIMS, Impingers, chromatography, thermal desorption by GS/MS, and cavity ring down spectrometry analysis method.
  • Good communication & teamwork skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to train others
  • Lead teams without managing.
  • Ability to respond after hours.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering; or equivalent engineering experience.
  • 5 years or more experience with Semiconductor Facilities and/or mechanical systems experience such as designing, maintaining, or installing distribution piping, duct work, HVAC, chillers, pumping systems, exhaust system, and/or process related systems
