The newly-formed Capital One M&A Group advises corporate and financial clients on strategic transactions. The team originates and executes M&A transactions across industry verticals with deal flow originating largely from Capital One’s existing commercial banking client base. The M&A Group is looking for an M&A Analyst to join our team in New York.

General responsibilities include

  • Executing and supporting the origination of M&A transactions including private and public sell-sides, buy-sides, corporate divestitures, etc.

  • Building and maintaining complex financial/ valuation models including DCF, accretion/ dilution, LBO, comparable trading and transactions analysis

  • Drafting pitch books, selling memorandum and management presentations

  • Communicating and interacting with industry partners and commercial banking as well as with clients and other external parties

  • Managing multiple projects at once and working effectively as part of a team

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • At least 1 year of investment banking experience or private equity experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics or accounting

  • 2+ years of investment banking experience

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills

  • Team focus with strong work ethic

  • Superior written and oral presentation skills

  • Experience in an entrepreneur growth-oriented environment
