Accounting Associate (R142101)

This Accounting Associate role will support Capital One Securities, a broker dealer registered with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC). Candidates should have the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must be able to develop strong relationships with key business partners. Additionally, candidates should possess the ability to identify process improvement and technology options and assist in implementation of automation solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare journal entries and monthly reconciliations

• Perform month end closing and financial reporting processes timely and accurately

• Manage commissions for registered representatives

• Manage accounts payable and receivable for business and interface with Enterprise Supplier Management

• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly and other ad hoc analytics for line of business, Accounting, and Finance leadership

• Support quarterly SEC and Regulatory Reporting as well as other ad hoc reporting requests

• Interact directly with Finance and key business partners, associates throughout the controller’s group, tax, and external and internal auditors

• Participate in challenging project initiatives with the team.

• Support automation and data transformation efforts

• Identify and drive process efficiencies.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or military experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting

• At least 1 year of accounting or securities industry experience or a combination

• Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Series License 7, or 10, or 24, or 27, or 99 or any combination
