Role Value Proposition:

The RIS Marketing Team is a key partner to the RIS business and charged with defining and activating customer-focused marketing strategies that build awareness of our leadership in the retirement space, strengthen engagement with Plan Sponsors and Intermediaries around the value we deliver, and drive market demand for our products.

In that spirit, the Marketing Consultant II – Digital Analytics plays a critical role with delivering data, analytics, insights, and recommendations across both traditional and non-traditional marketing channels for each of the lines of business in RIS. As the organization grows our digital marketing initiatives, this role will help shape our data-driven approach going forward. This requires effectively helping to bring together web, email, social, video, lead gen and paid media channels analytics data and insights to paint a complete story of RIS Marketing campaign effectiveness and influence strategy. To ensure we drive consistency and on-going optimization to the RIS Marketing program, this role is also tasked with defining standards and best practices for reporting out campaign results for the larger RIS Marketing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of end-to-end RIS marketing data analytics and insights across all marketing channels: web, email, social, video, paid media channels, lead generation, etc.
  • Drive analytics as a strategic business asset, shaping how MetLife uses this asset to identify areas of opportunity for competitive and operational improvements both online as well as in digital marketing channels
  • Drive 3rd party agency excellence and partnered solutions in the online and digital marketing space.
  • Design and develop breakthrough analyses to maximize return on marketing investment.
  • Identify and define marketing requirements for IT to enable marketing process improvements that increase marketing effectiveness and efficiency; partner with internal technical team to troubleshoot and identify any gaps in tech stack
  • Use data to inform and recommend experiments on key marketing challenges to allow for better optimization of marketing spend
  • Conduct ongoing competitive analysis to inform marketing strategies

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • 2-3+ years marketing, market research and project management or operational experience.
  • Advanced skills in tools such as but not limited to: Adobe Analytics, PowerBI, BrightEdge, Accutics, LiveRamp, and Accoustics.
  • Advanced skills in Excel to manipulate the data to inform robust reporting
  • Proven experience/working knowledge of A/B testing, multivariate testing
  • Excellent written/oral communications and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to build, manage and influence teams (virtual and in-person).
  • Accomplished process thinker that can simplify complex topics and train other team members as required to ensure output and delivery.
  • Manage agency and platform vendor relationships as needed; build partnerships, monitor performance and seek improvement opportunities to advance email, social and lead generation targeting capabilities and marketing strategies.


  • BA or BS in Marketing or related field
  • Experience in Marketing systems/CRM applications.
  • Experience using data to drive change.
  • Curious, self-starter that can proactively identify trends and issues.
  • Success in building strong, working partnerships across different functions.
  • Working knowledge of marketing principles, practices, tactics, and tools.
  • Working knowledge of Marketing fundamentals, lifecycle, marketing mix and knowledge management.
  • Keeping pace in a fast-paced environment with urgent requests.
  • Excellent negotiating and change management skills.
  • Excellent influencing, consensus-building, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent operational skills with financial/business acumen and strategic mindset.
  • Ability to interface effectively with senior executive management and demonstrate functional disciplines/knowledge.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
