Working closely with these partners across each of Capital One’s lines of business, you will be a go-to resource across the company on interpreting new laws and regulations applicable to Capital One. Additionally, you will advise our legal and business partners on how to solve problems in multiple subject matters across the company.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Advise lines of businesses on the legal significance and interpretation of applicable laws and regulations tailored to specific business processes and practices

  • Serve as the first legal touchpoint for all new laws, rules, and regulations that may be applicable to Capital One’s lines of business, and draft accurate and understandable summaries for business lines

  • Do all this (and more) in a highly-collaborative environment that values your insight, encourages you to take on new responsibilities, promotes a growth mindset, and rewards your innovation and intellectual curiosity

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active member in good standing of at least one state bar

  • At least 3 years of experience as an attorney in a law firm, in-house legal department, or government agency

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and flexibility to adapt to changing needs

  • Ability and desire to learn new areas of law

  • Ability and willingness to work as a team player
