Group Benefits (GB) is responsible for the strategic direction, growth and management of MetLife's industry-leading U.S. employee benefits business. Our sales force works directly with customers or through brokers, exchanges, and other third parties to distribute our broad range of Group Life, Dental, Vision, Group Disability, Total Absence Management, Property & Casualty, Accident, Hospital Indemnity, Critical Illness and Legal Plan products and services.

US Group Benefits Marketing is responsible for all Marketing for the Group, Voluntary, and Worksite Benefits business, across all three Market Segments and creates strategies to drive profitable revenue growth by achieving participation and retention rates outlined in the business plan.

The successful candidate will be responsible for customizing and executing employee, employer and broker communications for Group Benefits to drive engagement. The Communications Delivery Manager will be the communication subject matter expert and work closely with internal constituencies, which include Voluntary Communications Specialists (VCS), Implementation, Sales, Account Teams, Legal, Operations, and external constituencies including employer groups and brokers. Customer demands will require the candidate to think innovatively and creativity when customizing campaigns to optimize engagement and participation. The candidate should possess strong collaboration and management skills, be prepared to identify and respond to inquiries and independently provide solutions to challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Business and Customer Delivery Experience – the incumbent will develop a keen understanding of all MetLife B2B and B2C communications, campaigns, strategies and products. They will collaborate with brokers, employer groups and internal marketing partners to develop and execute, customer specific, employee, employer and/or broker focused communications. They will do this by:

  • Demonstrating a clear passion for the category and a willingness to immerse themselves fully in the details of the MetLife products, communications, campaigns and each customer’s business challenge
  • Gaining a deep understanding of MetLife’s target customers and brokers in order to better engage and drive solutions

Collaboration and Influence the incumbent will work closely with various internal business teams, marketing support teams and numerous peers to help define, deliver and execute the business strategies. They will operate in a highly-matrixed environment and succeed by:

  • Building strong working relationships with numerous partners at all levels of the organization, including VCS, Implementation, Account Teams and internal subject matter experts to identify and execute marketing communications and campaigns to drive engagement
  • Demonstrating a deep subject-matter and disciplinary competency
  • Having the ability to offer well-structured, well-supported and clearly articulated points-of-view while met with skepticism, disbelief and/or opposition
  • Influencing and defining integrated marketing plans that will help grow the business through marketing deliverables/capabilities

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • 3+ years of diverse and progressive marketing experience or insurance industry experience
  • Undergraduate degree or relevant experience
  • Experience leading data-based decision making and distilling into clearly concise stories
  • Experience navigating, influencing and leading within a highly matrixed environment
  • Ability to advise on B2C and B2B channels, with a customer mindset
