Manager, Data Loss Prevention Coordination (Remote Eligible)

Cybersecurity is essential to Capital One’s commitment to protect our customers and associates. We’re looking for an individual who’s passionate about cybersecurity and risk management. You see security as an innovation enabler and differentiator, not a step in the compliance process. You thrive working with business and technology partners to achieve goals and objectives in a secure manner.

You’re looking for a workplace where you can be your authentic self and be vulnerable, acting as a model for diverse, inclusive behavior. You value and help grow culture based around a psychologically safe environment.

Capital One is seeking a Data Loss Prevention Coordinator to coordinate response to DLP Incidents. At Capital One, we believe in the values of Excellence and Doing the Right Thing. We are a technology-oriented company delivering financial products to market through modern technology and constant innovation at a massive scale.

As a candidate for this role, you’re able to seamlessly switch from executive-level risk conversations to diving deep into controls and technology to partnering with teams across the business to enable the safe usage of company data. You are naturally curious and stay on top of emerging trends and threats. You are not afraid to question any existing processes and solutions, yet you display a keen sense of business value proposition and focus on the right priorities. You are a clear thinker, thrive in working across teams, and an expert in dealing with ambiguity. You believe that a core component of security’s role is to enable the business, not just to secure it, and the solutions you bring to life are aligned to the needs of our developer community and business partners. You thrive in working in a fast paced, technologically forward leaning environment and are not afraid to push the boundaries of security capabilities.

About You:

  • You have expert knowledge of DLP, data analytics, incident management, or investigative programs and the ability to communicate those threats to senior leadership.

  • You have experience in effectively understanding and communicating DLP concepts, trends, people risk, or conduct risk program management.

  • You are adept at critical thinking, writing, and briefing.

General Responsibilities:

  • Support day-to-day DLP coordination operations.

  • Understand technology infrastructure and operational processes in order to enable a more effective response process.

  • Maintain a catalog detailing DLP response processes and procedures.

  • Develop, follow, and maintain ‘playbooks’ which provide a visual depiction of various operational response workflows.

  • Identify and enhance processes where automation has the potential to improve efficiency.

  • Support the DLP Engineering team in developing key performance indicators to measure success of the DLP Program.

  • Coordinate with various Information Security Officer teams in clarifying security risks, and roles and responsibilities related to ongoing data loss cases and risks.

Capital One is open to hiring a Remote Employee for this opportunity.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification

  • At least 5 years of experience in Cyber Operations, Data Loss Prevention, or Insider Threat

  • At least 2 years of experience with cyber program development or incident management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 6+ years of experience in cyber security, DLP, insider threat, incident response, or technical investigations

  • 1+ years of experience with Amazon Web Service cloud concepts and resources

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), AWS Certification, or Security+ Certification
