Overview

Job Summary:

The Senior Appian Developer will work with business Onboarding teams, and lead/oversee the ACT (Automated Candidate Tracker) Appian development and support teams, to provide innovative solutions to enable best practices and leading-edge technology in the Hire to Retire value stream. This role is expected to have in depth understanding and applied knowledge of the latest Appian Framework and close process understanding for SDLC to guide development teams in leveraging Appian functionality and adopt best practices.

The Senior Appian Developer supports the organization's existing software or systems infrastructure. Responsible for identifying and implementing applications to ensure the best experience for our users.

Additional responsibilities include working closely with all dev and support teams daily for current ongoing PI features and guide the development team on future features. This role additionally will assist in providing high level estimates on future feature work deemed critical by our product team.

Requires education or equivalent work experience that has provided knowledge and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts of the discipline.

This position can be worked remotely with regular travel to Jacksonville, FL.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Building and implementing upon our Appian toolset for ACT, with a combination of technical understanding and business knowledge to deliver value to our business partners
  • Consider proof of concepts, create process design (including scenario design, flow mapping), work on development and training activities, provide postproduction support and resolving issues
  • Provide guidance and support to the dev and support teams in resolving issues with ACT application and Appian tools. Provide best practices in development approaches to increase code quality and efficiency
  • Assist in capturing health check monitoring metrics. Evaluate current state and trends to improve system stability. Plan and prepare for Appian upgrades and hotfixes
  • Assist in performance testing evaluation for new code deployments. Facilitate discussions that dig into root cause changes between baseline tests and expected release candidates
  • Coordinate with several internal and external IS teams in addition to business and product stakeholders
  • Adhere to best practices in agile development and SAFE model
Qualifications

Skills / Abilities:

  • Ability to drive performance improvements towards better SLAs on user transactions in ACT
  • Ability to find root cause on issues in ACT, working knowledge of Appian toolkit to triage problems
  • Capable of working with vendor partners to push towards best use of Appian frameworks
  • Stay connected with future Appian releases and hotfix notes to inform dev team and IS leaders on upcoming value in the Appian framework
  • Exposure to a heavily integrated cloud environment with upstream and downstream touch points with varying degrees of complexity
  • Understanding of SDLC phases (requirements, functional testing, data validations, production migration, user training, post go-live enhancements, reporting)
  • Extensive experience as an application developer, should have participated in several initiatives with technical skills to deliver value-add solutions to business-critical features
  • Knowledge of design and implementation of technology-enabled business solutions
  • Knowledge of IT business processes and practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills - effective listening and teaming, self-motivated, demonstrated a bias for action

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

  • 4-6+ years of IS experience
  • 4+ years leveraging Appian technologies such as SAIL, Process Models, Rules, CDTs, and Reports
  • Involvement with Agile and SAFE disciplines
  • Appian certified
