We’re looking for someone who is passionate about our mission and who will keep it at the forefront of their work. In this role you’d have the opportunity to work on projects in many different areas of the backend and our connected health offerings including: building APIs that connect our app users with our digital coaching team, working on distributed systems and data consistency, and improving our users health & wellbeing journeys.
What you will be doing
Working with a small, tight-knit, inclusive team to ensure our distributed backend systems are performant, resilient and scalable
Building out the backend APIs and systems that coordinate the delivery of education and call to action plans to our users based on their specific journey
Helping tackle typical problems of cloud based (AWS) distributed systems including communication, coordination, scalability, resiliency and consistency
Actively contribute to reviewing teammates’ work via code reviews in a way that improves the team’s shared understanding of the code and improves our technology
3+ years of experience with team based development experience
Familiarity with building applications utilizing cloud technologies (preferably in AWS)
Understanding of distributed systems and experience with some components of a distributed system architecture
Ability to design, build and consume APIs to send and receive data utilizing using object oriented programming principles
Desire to learn and grow as an engineer and an ability to communicate and collaborate cross-functionally.
Experience using version control
Prior experience working in an Agile environment.
Experience with one of the following will be extremely beneficial: modern PHP (7.4+), Ruby on Rails or Python
