We are continually expanding our global backbone network infrastructure to support Meta's fast growing user community and the new and innovative products that we are making available for our users. Through direct engagement with partners around the world, the Network Investments team seeks to foster the development of open, shared network infrastructure. If you are passionate about telecommunications, making the world more open and connected and have a desire to leverage your data and analytics skill sets to increase access to broadband internet and build the next generation of metaverse-ready networks, this is a great role for you. As a Data Analytics manager, you will be working with our data science, fiber managers, product and partnerships teams to understand performance of existing networks, identify areas of gaps and bottlenecks, and recommend investment infrastructure to boost coverage, capacity and latency. You will use data to provide meaningful recommendations and actionable strategies to key stakeholders, and develop best practices, including streamlining of data sources and related programmatic initiatives.

Required SkillsData Analytics Manager, Network Infra Responsibilities:
  • Lead cross-functional projects with our infrastructure and connectivity teams to define problem statements, collect data, build analytical models and make recommendations.
  • Employ a diverse toolkit of rigorous analytical approaches, different methodologies, frameworks, and technical approaches to test them.
  • Drive Greenfield product ideation and initiation.
  • Use network performance, coverage and other data layers (i.e. population density, income levels, etc.) to conduct gap analysis and ultimately recommend infrastructure expansion such as fiber routes and wireless backhaul to connect Meta’s Data Centers and POPs.
  • Identify gaps in the operational processes, build analytical models for finding insights and helping in driving decisions across different org leadership.
  • Conduct analytics studies to identify new opportunities and shape business strategy. Leverage tools like Python, SQL, R, and Tableau for analytics.
  • Work with the Data Science, Product and Network Investment teams to set up goals, metrics and track impact.
  • Influence stakeholders and strategy and investment decisions with data and insights.
  • Provide mentorship to other members of the team on development of best practices for design and implementation of cutting-edge analytics insights.
  • Support the direction and expansion of the team, helping to scope future roles as the charter of the team grows.
  • Stay abreast of developments in the telecom infrastructure space and share that knowledge with the wider Meta team.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, if and when travel is not restricted. Domestic and International travel is required.
Minumum QualificationMinimum Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience analyzing and interpreting data, developing metrics, drawing conclusions, recommending actions, and reporting results across stakeholders.
  • 5+ years of experience working on infrastructure performance and analytics for a telecom operator, equipment vendor deploying or operating telecom infrastructure, or for a consulting firm with a focus on analytics.
  • 3+ years of experience designing analytics products, solving problems using data, and providing business insights.
  • Knowledge of fundamental statistics and experience applying statistical analysis methodology (i.e. hypothesis testing, statistical inference, regressions, and/or ML systems).
  • Experience using analytical tools (i.e. Tableau, statistical, visualization, and/or GIS/mapping), data processing, visualization, and data analytics techniques (i.e. SQL, Python, R, PHP, and/or ReactJS).
  • Knowledge of telecom infrastructure, metrics, measurements and performance data for mobile and/or fixed line networks.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills with experience presenting to both technical and business audiences, including to executive level decision makers.
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
Preferred QualificationPreferred Qualifications:
  • Experience building data and analytics tools and products.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring peers and investing in the professional growth of the team.
  • Proven judgment in balancing practical business needs and scientific rigor.
  • Masters or Ph.D. in a quantitative field (Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or Computer Science).
