The Meta Product Security team is responsible for the code level security of Meta. We perform this mission via finding, fixing and preventing security flaws across our codebase.The Secure Application Frameworks (SAF) team is responsible for the “prevention” pillar of our work and does this by building frameworks to provide a safe-by-default environment for every engineer in every codebase at the company. Security prevention is achieved through the following steps. First, we identify, measure and prioritize security risks. Next, we build new or evolve existing frameworks to address the identified security risks. Finally, we drive the optimal adoption of the security frameworks to prevent identified security risks.In this role, you will interact with all parts of the codebase and the company in the goal of solving entire categories of security flaws at their root to prevent them from happening [Register to View] such, the Manager of this team should have a strong software engineering background and enjoy improving the quality and security of a codebase via large-scale refactors. They should be comfortable working cross-functionally and with stakeholders of varying levels of technical expertise. Specifically, you will be managing two teams: Native (C++) and Mobile (iOS and Android).

  • Manage a team of engineers developing security solutions across Meta products and services

  • Design and help build codebase-wide protections and mitigations for security flaws
  • Develop a roadmap for future work, track progress against it, and evaluate the team's performance
  • Influence the design and implementation of upcoming products and services with security in mind
  • Collaboratively and inclusively set direction for the team
  • Lead effectively through outcomes rather than tasks
Minumum QualificationMinimum Qualifications:
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of work experience in software or security engineering, including 3+ years of proven hands-on technical management experience of software engineers
Preferred QualificationPreferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with security related projects
  • Native (C++) development experience
  • Experience developing for mobile (iOS, Android) platforms
  • Proven exposure to performing scalable security work
