This position is open for 100% remote.


The Hershey Company’s Commercial Information Technology team is seeking a Sr Mgr, SAP Solutions to lead and own the SAP technical platforms enabling Hershey’s Trade Promotion Management (TPM) and Direct Marketing Expense (DME) processes. Aligned with the business and digital strategy, the role will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end technology solutions while also working to define and manage a business and technology enabled roadmap.

The successful candidate should bring deep functional and technical knowledge of SAP platforms and understanding of Order to Cash, Finance, and Trade Promotion Management in Consumer Packaged Goods. The candidate should demonstrate examples of successful project implementations of SAP systems leading the solution from discovery through deployment leveraging a cross-functional team. Additionally, the Sr. Manager must have strong leadership skills and experience building and maintaining high performing teams.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

Operations and Implementation Lead:

• Define and manage the overall SAP solution architecture supporting TPM and DME including customer planning, trade promotion effectiveness, marketing campaign effectiveness and more, following best practices

• Management and oversight of Application Managed Services (AMS) support provider, ensuring delivery against Service Level Agreements (SLAs), process excellence, and continuous improvement

• Work with business, technical and implementation teams to efficiently translate functional strategy and requirements into technical solutions that drive business capabilities

• Partner with business process owners to plan and manage the design, testing and implementation of systems supporting TPM and DME functions

• Management and coordination of internal teams and implementation partners building and deploying capabilities

• Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors, with a path for escalating issues where necessary

• Effectively communicate results and status of projects during various stages of their life cycle

• Clearly communicate risks, issues and action plans to both Business and IT leadership.

Strategy Development:

• Develop and maintain the strategic vision and 3-year roadmap for TPM and DME solutions supporting the long-term business strategy

• Collaborate with business partners to advise, define, and deliver new capabilities and projects for the TPM and DME processes as aligned in the roadmap

• Partner with multiple groups within IT and the business to identify opportunities for data, process and/or adoption, and provide technology support for sales planning, promotion planning, revenue growth, and improved financial returns on trade promotions and marketing initiatives

• Provide subject matter expertise with deep functional and technical knowledge to help address critical business problems in a scalable and sustainable fashion

• Develop recommendations, solution concepts and business cases for new investments

• Bring expertise to help develop a more integrated digital ecosystem focused on process optimization and increased speed to market

Talent Management:

• Provide leadership and oversight for the solution team that manages daily operations supporting the TPM and DME applications

• Develop talent of team through on-going coaching, mentoring, and career path development

• Ensure teams are meeting objectives and providing appropriate support coverage in meeting internal and supplier SLAs

• Business Transformation and/or IS Leadership Role for SAP TPM and DME on key implementation projects.

• Manage SAP technology platforms supporting TPM and DME for Hershey US, Canada, and Mexico

• Lead current team of four (4 Sr Analysts) FTEs plus 3 contractors with potential for additional future staff

• Own relationships with vendor partners supporting TPM and DME

• Represent TPM and DME requirements and priorities within IS to ensure effective support, deployment of new capabilities and enhancements while gaining alignment to various teams

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:


B.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Information Systems, Engineering, or another related field. MBA is preferred.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 7+ years of in IT delivery leadership role, developing and implementing innovative solutions, with experience in a broad range of IT areas including software development, ERP platforms, and/or off the shelf software package implementations.

• 7+ years of end-to-end complex solution implementations of SAP in Order to Cash (OTC)/Sales & Distribution (SD), Finance (FI) or Trade Promotion Management (TMA and BW Integrated Planning)

• Technical ownership of SAP solutions including accountability for day-to-day operations and support

• Deep knowledge of SAP functionality, especially in Sales & Distribution (SD) and Finance (FI); includes knowledge of the end-to-end Order to Cash (OTC) processing in SAP

• 7+ years of experience managing and leading teams of employees and third-party resources

• In depth understanding of integration of SAP solutions with upstream and downstream applications including ECC/S4, internal data lakes/warehouses, middleware, etc.

• Experience working directly with senior leaders within Commercial areas to develop business technology strategy and roadmap in line with business objectives and growth strategies

• Strong business account and customer relationship management skills. Demonstrated ability to work closely with internal customers, across all levels including executives

Strongly Preferred Skills and Experience:

• In depth functional understanding of end-to-end trade promotion management and customer planning functional business processes, as well as their integration with demand planning, pricing, and finance in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry

• Proven track record in implementation and/or support of the following SAP CRM/BW modules: Customer Business Planning (CBP), Trade Promotion Management (TPA), BW Integrated Planning (IP)

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proven track record of delivering against multiple priorities and multiple product lines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

• Demonstrated ability to anticipate business partner needs and proactively develop and discuss potential solutions

• Ability to interact effectively with business executives and possesses executive presence

• Ability to move easily between big picture thinking and managing relevant detail

• Strong oral/written communication, presentation, and organizational skills

• Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodology with strong DevOps background

• Project management skills; financial/budget management, scheduling, and resource management
