IT Project Manager - ERP Implementation (20376)

The IT Project Manager - ERP is responsible for overall coordination, status reporting and stability of project-oriented work efforts. This role will establish and implements project management processes and methodologies for the IT community to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations. Responsible for assembling project plans and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality review; and escalating functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately. Responsible for tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of customers. Coordinates communication with all areas of the enterprise that impacts the scope, budget, risk and resources of the work effort being managed. Assists IT PMO leader in partnering with senior management of the business community to identify and prioritize opportunities for utilizing IT to achieve the goals of the enterprise. Must possess extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices and change management techniques.

Senior roles will have responsibility for multiple large, complex projects with greater impact to the enterprise. Middle level roles will manage one or more cross-functional projects of medium to high complexity.

Specific areas Vectrus IT PMs will be focusing on are:

ERP implementations using IFS/UKG/SAP, Lean IT, Cyber security and Cloud Engineering and Operations

Education / Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

  • College degree or equivalent experience, technical degree beneficial
  • Certification in any of the following disciplines a must – PMP/Prince2, Agile (Scrum/Kanban), Design Thinking


  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent required
  • 8+ years in management or program experience in a company with proven success with specific focus on the areas mentioned above (ERP, Cloud etc)
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with senior leaders to accomplish project goals of the organization Experience with finance technology and understanding of finance processes a plus Strong knowledge of project management methodology, techniques, and tools.
  • Proven experience in people management, risk management, and change management.
  • Proficient in project management software.
  • The ability to strategically resolve change management issues within deadlines while utilizing persuasive, professional tenacity without the direct authority to do so (indirect reports) Must be able to articulate strategy to indirect reports and set priorities of the team in complex situations with competing priorities

Skills & Technology Used:

  • Experience with Azure, AWS, or other cloud provider
  • MS Planner (or Trello, Monday, Asana), MS Project, Project4Web, Project Online
  • Microsoft Office
  • Windows 20xx or Linux experience
  • Strong technology/ IT industry knowledge
  • Service Now Product line

Supervisory / Budgetary Responsibilities

  • Position will manage multiple people in performance of this position
