Job Description

This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies within the Preferred Distribution type of commodities such as IC's, passives, and interconnect. The incumbent will manage relationships with our key suppliers and be an escalation point in resolving supply problems as they arise. This candidate will assist the formulation and implementation of sourcing strategies, participate on cross-functional teams to ensure that BAE Systems is leveraging spend, effectively utilize resources, drive to best practices and improve overall supplier performance management. This is accomplished following established and approved procurement policies and procedures in order to provide the lowest cost consistent with quality and service requirements while maintaining good supplier relations. This position works closely with many internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to supply chain management, supplier quality, manufacturing, and programs.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelors’ Degree and 4 years of work experience
  • Ability to execute/ oversee the direct procurement of various commodities
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Technical aptitude
  • Familiarity with FAR/DFAR regulations and Export Control requirements
  • Strong communication, organizational and analytical skills
  • Work effectively in a team environment
  • Proven problem solving capabilities
  • Have hands-on experience with MRP systems
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office tools
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • APICS or ISM Supply Chain related certifications
  • Green Belt/Black Belt Certification
  • Oracle ERP Experience
