Systems Architect / Engineer (USCG Enterprise Systems)
The selected applicant will apply knowledge of and experience with engineering principles and techniques to provide system architecture support services for United States Coast Guard (USCG) Command, Control, Communication, Computer, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems in conformance with the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) 2.0. The architecture products shall be developed and maintained in the USCG Enterprise Architecture Management System (TEAMS) repository using Coast Guard’s current version of UNICOM System Architecture. Applicant shall have in-depth knowledge and experience working with DoDAF 2.0 and UNICOM System Architecture 11.4.
Responsibilities will include:
Develop and maintain the USCG Architecture Products and associated metadata in the USCG Enterprise Architecture Management System (TEAMS) System Architect software tool
Develop key architectural components for USCG shipbuilding activities, including evolution to architecture products such as architecture, capability, operational, and systems views
Participate in Integrated Project Team (IPT) meetings and related working groups in support of USCG architecture development
Support architecture reviews to present progress, status, plans and issues associated with the performance of the tasking
Provide and post appropriate materials to support the update and maintenance of architecture products to the designated data repository
Lead integration and implementation efforts of Enterprise projects
Provide the overall integration vision necessary to bring multiple products together in a complex implementation environment
Work closely with product-specific implementation personnel to make certain that all cross-product issues are identified and resolved during the implementation cycle
Act as the integration coordinator for enterprise integration planning and execution
Manage communications through weekly project update status reports
The selected candidate will need to be proactive and self-motivated in solving complex problems and ensuring customer satisfaction.
The primary place of performance will be Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington, DC. Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidate. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate to Washington, DC or surrounding areas.Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Management Information System and 6 or more years of work experience
Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance
Knowledge of system engineering architecture principles, concepts, and best practices
Experience in coordinating technology designs with architectural requirements and constraints
Proficiency with Configuration Management, Requirements Management and Development Review Boards
Certified Enterprise Architect certification
Experience with major transformation efforts involving significant organization, process and technology change
Experience with solution team development, training and re-engineering to meet business objectives
Knowledge of TEAMS System Architect software tool
Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Management Information System
