We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join our technology-based program supporting a key government customer. This program will deliver engineering services for network infrastructure as well as sophisticated enterprise computing infrastructure including end-point devices, data center hosted servers, multi-Cloud services as well as virtualized applications, and storage systems. Enterprise Computing Engineering services include modern application technology with containerized solutions and orchestrated workflow that function both on customer premise, and via remote Cloud services. Network infrastructure engineering services are comprised of core infrastructure, voice and video engineering, field engineering, application management and development for networks, network analytics, firewalls, network access controls and bandwidth service delivery. Required Education, Experience, & Skills We are actively seeking Network Engineers with a minimum of 11 years' experience. The Network Engineer is responsible for designing technical solutions for complex problems. The
candidate will provide technical oversight of a project solution, including requirement interpretation and allocation of requirements to technical components. The candidate will define processes to support the implementation of requirements. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that technical solutions leverage industry best practices, designing for security and excellence while minimizing the total cost of ownership. Candidate should be able to define internal and external customer IT infrastructure architecture needs and then design solutions to meet those needs to include: capacity planning, systems configuration and tuning, monitoring backups, and installations of hardware and software. Candidate will be required to work independently with little supervision and should be flexible to work and support IT Operations needs as requested. Bachelor's or Master’s Degrees are preferred in one or more of the disciplines described below where specific skills may include the following…

  • REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
  • - Bachelor's Degree with 11+ years of experience configuring, designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting LAN/WAN, VPN, SD-WAN and VoIP devices
  • - Candidate must possess an active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • - Performing upgrades and performing routine network operations and maintenance (O&M).
  • - Identifying and implementing INFOSEC and COMSEC security requirements for the network.
  • - Complex configuration management techniques and requirements for managing network systems
  • - Thorough understanding of network routing concepts (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, IP MPLS)
  • - Experience configuring/maintaining Cisco ASA/Firepower devices
  • - Basic understanding of QoS concepts
  • - Experience with network monitoring technologies
  • - Ability to take ambiguous requirements or problems and convert them into technical solutions
  • - Ability to partner with systems administrators, storage administrators, and application
  • developers to solve complex problems
  • - Complex problem management research and issue resolution
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Experience with a variety of network technologies and solution architectures
  • - Broad understanding of technical principle, theories, and concepts in the networking field.
  • - Knowledge of state-of-the-art systems engineering principles and network design concepts
  • - Virtualization experience (VDI & VMWare)
  • - Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • - Security best practices and implementing firewalls and perimeter security measures including VPN technologies
  • - Continuous integration, test automation and / or SecDevOps on iterative development projects
  • - Agile Development methodologies
  • - Cisco Certifications: CCNA or CCNP
  • - Experience configuring Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE) and Cisco Prime
  • - Experience configuring, designing, and troubleshooting QoS in LAN or WAN devices
  • - Experience configuring, designing, and troubleshooting storage network (iSCSI, Fiber channel)
  • - Experience with designing and implementing data centers
  • - Experience configuring/maintaining other (non-Cisco) hardware firewall devices such as Forcepoint Sidewinder Firewall
