Job Description The Opportunity

The 'Sentinel' Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Program will replace the aging Minuteman III (MMIII) ICBM, the first of its kind in over 50 years. This program is considered a “mega-project” and one of the most complex in the history of the Department of Defense. The new ICBM weapon system acquisition effort brings with it the newest digital engineering tools and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices to meet existing warfighter requirements, while having the adaptability and flexibility to affordably address changing technology and threat environments through 2075.

As part of the U.S. Air Force's Integration Support Contract (ISC), BAE Systems provides Advisory and Assistance Services in the areas of engineering, logistics, management, scientific analysis, and other subject matter expertise to augment and optimize management of the Sentinel ICBM Prime Contractor.

The Role
BAE Systems is looking for a Environmental Project Manager to support Planning, Programming and Design activities to construct and convert facilities needed to support the Sentinel Intercontinental Ballistic Missile program for the United States Air Force. You are responsible for the technical quality, content, and results for Environmental support to the Sentinel mega-project across Wyoming, Colorado, Nebraska, Montana and North Dakota. This position will interact with various state and federal agencies to coordinate and administer the programs environmental permitting needs to support construction and conversion efforts on behalf of the Program and the United States Air Force.

  • 10 yrs experience in direct Program Management experience (8yrs with MS)
  • Experience in environmental health and safety programs with extensive knowledge in regulatory compliance, audits, and risk mitigation
  • Skilled in Air Emissions, Hazardous Waste, Process Hazard Analysis, Pollution Prevention, and Environmental Assessments
  • Familiarity with Construction Guidance & Oversight, Trend Analysis, and Permitting
  • Experience working in a collaborative, multi-discipline team environment, able to define strategic goals, plan operations and implement tactical customer guidance with minimal day-to-day guidance
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Act as a servant-leader and facilitator to support teams
  • Must be able to obtain Secret (or higher) security clearance
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering or related field
  • Active Secret clearance, Ability to obtain Top Secret
  • Experience with Government contracts
  • Familiarity with Agile Mindset and continuous process improvement
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
