Job Description BAE Systems is hiring a Material Planning Coordinator in Mojave, CA.

I. BASIC FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Provides support to the material planning and control function. Prepares and monitors material requisitions and material schedules with production schedules. Maintains engineering specifications and production schedules and plans material movement within purchasing, warehouse and production. Creates and generates reports on material plans and schedules.
This includes expediting, supporting pricing efforts while following approved procurement policies and procedures and in accordance with established purchase agreements; and the tracking and reporting of material status to the program Integrated Product Team (IPT).
II. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Duties and responsibilities which occupy a major portion of time and importance in the job. Incumbent(s) perform one or more of the following duties.)
1. Processing of incoming customer requirements to ensure the timely processing and to provide updated statuses for all request.
2. Coordinates with suppliers and shippers to expedite purchased material. Maintains accurate shipping and delivery information from suppliers.
3. Researches technical data from various government publications and vendor catalogs to ascertain the validity of the item being requisitioned.
4. Compiles material status information for use in reporting overall project material status. Prepares weekly report on status of requisitions purchased.
5. Works closely with key Program personnel to develop inventory and quality standards for material, components and supply requirements. Ensures that all quality provisions are included on purchase order releases and all quality requirements specified on government contracts are listed on terms and conditions of purchase order release.
6. Obtains pricing and cost data for proposal efforts. Identifies potential sources for required materials, equipment, supplies and services. Prepares requests for quotations (RFQs) as required and sends to prospective suppliers. Responds to supplier inquiries.
7. Receives supplier proposals. Prepares pricing summary packages ensuring that all data is properly documented, reviewed and approved consistent with policy and procedure.
8. Maintains essential records and issues reports as required concerning purchases, prices and suppliers.
9. Provides support as required to resolve issues related to invoice processing to Accounts Payable.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills High School Diploma or GED and 5 years of related experience
Experience in material planning, inventory management, purchasing, or a related position
Communicates effectively, both verbally and written.
Capable of executing to established processes and procedures.
Exhibits high level of motivation, attention to detail, and energetic approach to job duties.
Excellent organization and follow through skills.
Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship status.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills DoD / Government contractor purchasing experience
Deltek COSTPOINT experience a huge plus
