Job Description BAE Systems is seeking an Human Resources Manager to lead the HR function for the Ship Repair Business Unit site in Jacksonville, Florida.
As a trusted member of the site leadership team, the site Human Resources Manager is expected to influence in all facets of HR. This role is responsible for partnering to shape business decisions through an HR lens to ensure proper consideration of people implications. Provide proactive and reactive employee relations support, manager coaching, business growth or business right sizing support while creating and shaping a culture that is diverse, equitable and inclusive.
A well prepared candidate should have experience in being able to effectively lead and influence in implementing Human Resources policies, partnering with business operations to ensure understanding of business needs and objectives and resolve all HR related issues. Key HR related areas include: succession planning, talent management, talent acquisition, employee relations, labor relations, compensation, benefits, EEO, and/or training and development. The HR Manager will be responsible for driving leaders to identify top talent and succession candidates and support the succession planning process at the business unit level. Partner to ensure success by reviewing and analyzing HR metrics to monitor performance and identify actionable trends. Work with leadership to support an effective workforce plan/strategy and collaborate with talent acquisition to translate the requirements into an executable plan. Provide guidance and coaching to management in the delivery of compensation programs such as annual salary planning, incentive compensation nominations etc. Responsible to drive ethical behavior and instill a culture of Safety, Health & Environmental throughout the organization. Create a competitive organization by identifying efficiencies to reduce the cost of HR service delivery model.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Collaborate with the Centers of Expertise (COEs) and all elements of the HR delivery model to ensure the delivery of world class HR services and programs to address critical business needs and employ effective measures of success.
- Partner with assigned managers to identify top talent and succession candidates and provide support to the Management Readiness Review planning process at the business unit level.
- Promote business activities that support a culture that is diverse, equitable and inclusive.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop an effective workforce plan/strategy and collaborate with talent acquisition to translate the requirements into an executable plan.
- Act as a change agent for key HR and business changes and provide project management for assigned key HR projects.
Typically requires a Bachelors degree and ten (10) years experience in HR, with five (5) in an HR Leadership role;Ability to make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations;Able to provide solid counsel and influence as a site senior leader for the HR function;Should possess strong decision-making skills using sound judgment;Strong communication skills, verbal and written;Highly effective employee relations investigations skills;Experience addressing and resolving federal and state employment issues, including EEO/AAP;Agile and responsive in a fast paced, quick changing environment;Working experience within a skilled trades environment;Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint);Ability to support on-site.Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
