Senior Principal Engineer - RF Hardware (Hybrid) (81592BR)
Job Description Conducts research, design, development, and testing with signal processing on RF hardware. Develop and implement RF Signal processing algorithms within mission domains (EW, communications, navigation) using simulation tools MATLAB and Simulink; review vendor capabilities to support product specifications and development; works on complex scope of RF project.
Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Eight (8) years of RF engineering experience in design and development of broadband integrated RF assemblies, including the testing and measurement of components and integrated devices with knowledge of tuning, troubleshooting and modeling design circuitry.
- 4+ years’ experience in radar signal processing
- Ability to design algorithms to produce RF measurements from sampled analogue signals
- Knowledge of RF signal processing techniques, experience developing advanced mathematical algorithms, analytic techniques and computer simulations
- Proficient in Matlab, Simulink, C++, Python, or related programming languages
- Calculation of system link budgets, RF chain analysis aiding in deriving system level and allocated module requirements.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), or related field with 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience translating functional requirements into specific tasks
- Ability to obtain a secret clearance.
- Experience in designing, testing and troubleshooting RF sub-systems integrated assemblies and components, including performance evaluation with circuit analysis tools such as MATLAB and Simulink.
- Experience developing, coding, testing and debugging complex algorithms
- Working knowledge of measuring and understanding parameter, including but not limited to S-parameters, power measurement, noise figure, intercept point, compression point, switching speed, spurious and phase noise.
- Defense industry experience
- Experience in a technical lead role for development of RF products
- Master's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related STEM Degree Program.
