Tool Design Engineer (Hybrid) (82044BR)

Job Description Hybrid work schedule:

• Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.

BAE Systems is searching for an operations tool designer to support our advanced manufacturing facilities. This role will support all Electronic Systems factories in the design of tooling and fixtures to support production needs.

• Provide technical expertise to execute operations tool design including new designs and legacy drawing conversions.
• Adhere to all Operations tool design and company requirements for drawing standards.
• Ability to work independently with limited technical oversight.
• Meet program schedule requirements and provide regular status inputs to program and operations leadership. Utilize computer aided design software including CREO for 2D and 3D tool designs.
• Interface with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them to a successful design.
• Incorporate the latest in tool design best practices.
• Meet all program and company requirements for release and control of models and drawings, including PLM/Intralnk.

Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship status.Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Bachelors degree in a relevant engineering discipline and 6+ years experience, or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with comprehensive design processes including conceptual development, physical design and support to procurement and manufacturing
• Work within a broader program team, capable of communicating across functional boundaries in order to solve problems and achieve common goals.
• Familiar with standard manufacturing practices for the efficient fabrication of mechanical components and assemblies
• Understanding of GD&T in accordance with Y14.5 and associated ASME drawing standards
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in 3D Solid modeling and in the utilization of related file management systems.
• Knowledge in the use of CREO Parametric.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Proficient using CREO Parametric and Pro-Intralink/Winchill
• Experience with change management Product databases
• Active DoD Security Clearance
