As an intern, you will participate in our nationwide Internship & Co-Op Program, LEAP, where you will have the opportunity to Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress within the company. This is a summer position that has a typical timeframe of August-December. Internships and Co-ops may be shortened or extended at the discretion of the company. In this position you will be supporting the Ordnance Systems Business at the Radford, VA facility. This position is expected to be onsite at our Radford facility. Relocation, will not be offered and housing is not provided.

BAE Systems Inc., one of the world’s largest defense contractors and a stable Fortune 500Company, is hiring a Health and Wellness Intern for the Radford Army Ammunition Plant.

As a Health & Wellness Intern, you will:

• Assist the Safety and Occupational Health team
• Attend regular Safety Health and Environmental (SHE) department meetings
• Gather data and compile reports
• Expected hours - 15-25 a week
• Assist the team with administrative and technical support for upcoming tasks, such as, CPR certifications, Safety data, and ergonomic studies for employees

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelors Degree program pursuing a degree in Health, Safety, or related fields
• Must be scheduled to graduate in the upcoming years of 2023 or 2024.
• Excellent organization and project planning skills.
• Hard working and organized.
• Willing to learn new skills.
• Excellent team work skills.
• Proficient with PowerPoint and Excel.
