BAE Systems is looking for a Systems Engineering Manager with a passion for engineering and the desire to be part of an innovative, dedicated team responsible for industry-leading Global Positioning Systems (GPS) products. Our team seeks a leader interested in leading a verification team for real-time embedded GPS receivers for military ground applications. This position offers abundant opportunity to acquire in-depth knowledge of GPS technology and verification infrastructure, and to apply that knowledge in a team environment to develop the world's most cutting edge navigation solutions.

In your role, you will be responsible for managing a group of systems engineers, providing them with technical mentoring, career guidance and performance feedback. You will be an engaged member of the Systems Engineering leadership team, shaping culture and process while ensuring the staffing and technical needs of the business are met. You will work with our programs and customers using your technical skills and experience to ensure successful verification procedure development, integration, and informal al qualification. You will also have opportunities for technical engagement in architecture and design reviews, strategic initiative implementation, bid and proposal development, next generation solution planning and other areas that align with your skills and career aspirations.

Qualified candidates should also possess knowledge of systems engineering processes, especially related to embedded software verification, industry best practices, and in lab verification procedure development and execution. Experience and passion for leading and developing agile teams is also desired.

As a committed leader within Systems Engineering, you will help guide engineers in their career advancement as well as push systems engineering initiatives and best practices across the discipline. Our organization focuses on career development of our systems engineers and advancement of the craft of system engineering. You will work alongside other highly motivated engineers passionate about systems engineering and protecting our military service personnel.

Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline, or Masters of Science
  • Experience leading a development team (direct team lead or program leadership)
  • Experience developing and executing embedded software verification procedures
  • Solid understanding of systems engineering development processes for real-time embedded applications
  • Current US Citizenship is required.
  • Have the ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Experience in a people manager role for 2+ years
  • Systems engineering artifact development and technical leadership experience
  • Ability to guide employees through complicated or difficult situations effectively and professionally
  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Experience presenting to technical audiences
  • Highly motivated to solve complex problems and continuously improve
  • Existing Secret or Top Secret Security Clearance
  • Foundational knowledge of Agile
