Acquisition Systems Engineer

Job Description BAE Systems is looking for a dynamic individual, self-motivated, preferably with US Navy (USN) background centered on USN weapons systems acquisition management, to join our team as an engineer providing support with engineering, engineering management, and programmatic support to the Technical Director for ESSM Block 1, ESSM Block 2 and for the NATO SEASPARROW Surface Missile System (NSSMS) and its components within the NATO SEASPARROW Project Office (NSPO) in Arlington, VA.

Specific program elements include support of shipboard missile weapon system and Fire Control System (FCS) combat system program planning and management, including the Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) process support, modeling and simulation of the missile and FCS and interaction between them, and support to other US and International system integration programs. Duties will include attendance at meetings, follow up on action items, review of documentation, writing technical papers, and preparation of briefings and weekly management reports.

SETR Planning and Management.

  • Provide systems engineering services to the Technical Director associated with the acquisition development of new combat systems and weapon systems products and product upgrades to existing products.
  • Provide systems engineering support the Fleet Support Division (N-20), In-Service and Production Division (N-40), and Product Development Division (N-50) and to develop SETR plans tailored and appropriate for the development and upgrade efforts being conducted.

Future Naval Capabilities (FNC) Support.
  • Provide support to the NSPO Technical Director with FNC efforts including reviewing and updating Technology Transition Agreement (TTA) documentation, associated task statements, and assessments. Support will include tracking the FNC progress.

Acquisition and Technical Document Review.
  • Provide support reviewing and editing guidance, policy, congressional reports, and other documentation received or written by the program office, as required.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills Experience, & Skills

Experience with USN weapon systems.

Knowledge of Systems Engineering related processes.

Working knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office Suite SW products.
