Job Description

This BAE Systems program supports a federal customer who plays a key role in providing direct cybersecurity engineering support. The program provides systems and security engineering and integration support to specific government-sponsored projects, pilots, and prototypes (to include solution planning and engineering, defining security requirements, target architecture, interoperability and integration, system testing, verification and validation, modeling and simulation, studies and analysis, post-deployment security validation, and project risk management). Program staff support the engineering of current and emerging cybersecurity systems, policies, and processes to enforce standards, identify vulnerabilities and capability gaps, and reduce the cybersecurity risk of our customer's networks.

The Senior Cybersecurity Technical Writer reports to the Program Operations Lead and primarily supports a team of senior ISSOs, ISSEs, penetration testers, and other cyber/IA professionals. Duties involve writing, editing, and/or formatting deliverables such as SOPs, policies, processes, plans, guidance documents, and presentations. This position requires excellent writing, editing, and communication skills; the ability to pick up new concepts and learn new applications quickly; flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing requirements; and the ability to develop written cyber/IA content in addition to providing editing and formatting support. Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task are also critical.

This position’s assigned office location can be either Sterling, VA, or Rockville, MD. Maximum telework (>50%) is available for applicants residing in the National Capital Region (DC, MD, VA).

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent additional experience
  • 4+ years of experience as a full-time technical writer/editor that includes at least 1 year of cybersecurity writing experience
  • Experience using recent versions of SharePoint
  • Advanced Word and PowerPoint skills
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Experience using MS Teams
  • SharePoint administration experience
