Job Description

Join a dynamic team in the unique environment within occupational health. Your nursing skills will be put to use within our onsite occupational health clinic at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant.
Primary responsibilities include:

  • nursing assessments
  • medical surveillance exams including EKG
  • venipuncture,
  • audiometry,
  • spirometry
  • vision exams
  • respiratory FIT testing.
  • Treatment and management of occupational injuries and follow up are an critical responsibility of the occupational health nurse.

The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker, willing to learn new skills.
The selected candidate will be trained in Audiometry Testing, Spirometry, DOT urine collection and BAT training.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

-Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Virginia Board of Nursing and 4 years of experience
-Current BLS and AED Certification
-Excellent teamwork skills
-Compassionate with good communication skills
-Good Work-life balance
-Driven to want to make a difference
-Ability to multitask
-Great interpersonal skills

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

-Bachelors Degree in Nursing
-5+ years of nursing experience in clinical setting
-Strong clinical skills, including assessments, EKGs, wound care, venipuncture, injury treatment.
-Experience with performing audiograms, vision exams, spirometry a plus
-Must be able to communicate well with multidisciplinary team in both written and oral communication
-Familiarity with OSHA standards strongly recommended
-Must be able to multitask
-DOT Breath Alcohol Testing and DOT urine collection experience preferred, but not required.
-Willingness to learn, adapt to changing situations and strong work ethic a MUST
