Software Lead for Microservices App - Sign on bonus
Job Description Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site.
This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.
Do you have experience building cloud native applications? Have you re-architected existing software into a resilient containerized cloud based solution? We need your talent, motivation, and vision as a Software Engineering Lead for a Cloud-Native Microservices solution with our team. The main location for the team is in Merrimack, NH but this role can be located at our San Diego, CA, Reston, VA, or Merrimack, NH locations. Engineers who work in San Diego or Reston will require occasional trips to NH to meet with the team.
You will join a team of engineers on a program that provides customers with scalable Software Defined Radio (SDR) platforms, utilizing on-site servers and cloud resources for the processing of complex Signals Of Interest (SOIs), enabling real-time situational awareness in support of the warfighter.

Job Responsibilities
⦁ Lead our in-progress transition to a cloud native solution
⦁ Participate in cross-discipline software architecture definition and implementation including full stack development, APIs, containers, databases, and automated build pipelines.
⦁ Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and tools for software
⦁ Generate, with your team, the appropriate documentation for an audience at varying technical levels: customers, management, and engineers across all disciplines
⦁ Advocate for software best practices on our multi-discipline team
Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship status. Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Top Secret clearance (active within last 2 years) and current or previously held CI polygraph
- Ability to obtain Security+ certification within 60 days
- 10+ years of software development experience, including experience with Java and React
- Experience architecting resilient containerized applications
- Experience deploying to the cloud (AWS) with best practices (staging, production, automated testing)
- Experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and advocate for software development teams
- Strong written and verbal technical communication skills
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related degree
- Linux experience
- CompTIA's SECURITY+ certification
- Experience with Jenkins, Ansible, & Atlassian tools
- Docker/Podman & Kubernetes experience
- Scrum conductor experience
