Systems Engineer - Senior Scrum Master

Job Description

• The SCRUM Master must represent the team at SAFe events within the Agile Release Train (ART) such as, but not limited to, Sprint Reviews and weekly Scrum of Scrum calls.
• Ensuring that all team members are respecting the defined agile processes and providing coaching to the other members of the contract.
• Tracking and managing the velocity of the team throughout the sprint and helping remove blockers that they might encounter.
• Preparing for and conducting sprint and release planning events and retrospectives
• Collecting and analyzing metrics to identify opportunities for process improvements
• Identifying and calling out blockers to external program management in advance of when they become a problem causing delay of feature deliverables.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Systems or Software Engineering, Computer Engineering/Science, Management Information Systems or a related field
• 10 years of Scrum Master experience
• Product Owner experience
• Project Management experience
• Must have working knowledge of the software development process being employed by the team and be able to talk through the development steps the team is using as their approach to the problem
• Understanding of JIRA and the roles that it plays in the SAFe process
• Strong organizational and communications skills
• Must currently possess a Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain SCI

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• SAFe 5 Certification or Advanced Scrum Master Certification
• Ability to communicate with team and customers
• Experience with Jira/Confluence tools
• Experience with using Microsoft suite
