The MRO (Material, Repair, & Operations) Global Category Manager is the responsible and accountable for all sourcing strategies and implementation for defined global categories supporting Westinghouse’s business.

With support from the Global Indirect Director, the Manager, Global MRO will develop and execute strategies to manage spend within the category. These strategies will require cross functional alignment and may include alternative sources, including low-cost countries, and leveraging category spend globally, with a focus on cost efficiencies, quality, innovation, and the most effective supply chain models to service this business model. A key success factor is being able to clearly articulate the category vision and influence the organization. This position is a key contributor to the strategic goals of supply chain.

Your Day to Day:

  • Optimize total cost of ownership and manage supplier risk, while meeting business stakeholders' requirements within assigned categories

  • Deliver excellence in procurement activities through a structured category management process including spend analytics, strategy development, negotiations, and stakeholder engagement

  • Plan and align with business stakeholders to deliver desired business results (including savings for annual and multi-year savings goals) and spend strategies for assigned categories

  • Manage spend through strong market and competitive analysis, creation of leverage and professional negotiations to secure the best cost, quality, and service to meet business needs.

  • Use tools and techniques to profile, benchmark, research, and assess supply chain risks and trends to ensure security of supply within assigned categories.

  • Collaborate with a cross functional internal and external stakeholders to gain full alignment in category and business objectives.

  • Work closely with the Operational Buyers and Global Material organization to ensure alignment and effective execution of the agreed category strategies.

  • Initiate and lead RFP/RFQ bids and analysis, supplier evaluation, supplier qualification, supplier selection, supplier development, contract development/execution and negotiations.

  • Perform supplier relationship management including the tracking of service level agreements and KPIs.

  • Continuously seek out opportunities to further improve bottom-line company performance through strategic sourcing projects, supplier communications, quality, payment terms, value stream mapping, supply chain optimization and continuous improvement projects with suppliers

  • Effectively support and execute change management initiatives

  • Maintain awareness of applicable export control regulations to ensure compliance

Required to be successful for the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. MBA preferred

  • Minimum of 7 years of supply chain experience; 3 years of category lead experience; global category management experience preferred

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities

  • Knowledge of contractual terms and conditions (e.g., indemnification, intellectual property, force majeure)

  • Proven experience and knowledge of global category management

  • Strong decision making, problem solving and project management skills

  • Strong data analytic skills

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Business and financial acumen

  • Ability to think strategically

  • Strong communication skills and ability to break down barriers

  • Flexible and responsive to change

  • Understanding of Procure to Pay processes including SAP/Ariba ERP Systems

  • Culturally aware, international experience is a plus.
