Job Responsibilities Day-to-Day:

In this position the Engineer with be working with the advanced reactor engineering team, including the eVinciTM Micro Reactor project team, to perform modeling and simulation activities and can expect to be responsible for the following:

  • Provide technical support for assigned work performed in the modeling and simulation of micro reactor systems and components
  • Perform modeling and analysis of advanced reactor designs using a variety of engineering tools and methods. Develop documentation related to these calculations and analyses
  • Work with cross functional teams (i.e. system and component design, testing, manufacturing, materials, etc.) to solve challenging technical problems to progress the eVinci Micro Reactor and other advanced reactor designs
  • Interface with technical leads and project managers in coordination of activities associated with assigned work scope
  • Occasional travel to vendors, contractors, testing sites, etc., as needed to support development activities

Who You Are:
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:

  • BS Degree in Nuclear Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or recognized equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience
  • Ideally have nuclear safety analysis or modeling and simulation experience - finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), neutronics analysis (MCNP, Serpent), etc.
  • Must possess analytical skills, critical thinking, attention to detail and excellent communication skills including technical writing
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and tasks within an innovative development program
