Contract - 12 months with potential extension option

Your day to day:
Supplier Management Engineer is responsible for:
• Personal, industrial and nuclear safety as a fundamental part of their job
• Evaluating and managing performance of critical manufacturing suppliers
• Defining, managing and executing supplier oversight activities
• Identifying, proposing, and implementing performance improvements
• Identifying and leading timely resolution of quality/technical issues
• Leading and supporting assigned cost reduction and new product projects
Specifics:
• Learning, applying, and reinforcing Nuclear Safety Culture Traits and Human Performance Tools at Westinghouse and with our suppliers
• Managing flow down of Quality and Technical requirements to suppliers, e.g., NQA-1, ISO, Design Specifications, Approved Processes, etc.
• Performing periodic supplier evaluations, soliciting input & communicating results with suppliers to reinforce and drive performance expectations
• Evaluating procurement risk, soliciting stakeholder input, and leveraging tools and resources to develop and manage Oversight Plans
• Performing on-site and remote oversight of key supplier operations and activities, documenting results and taking appropriate actions
• Responsibility to develop Performance Improvement Plans for poor or negative trends in performance, and managing those plans to completion
• Owning internal and supplier corrective action requests, performing cause analyses and verifying completion of preventative and corrective actions
• Leading and escalating significant “quality events”, coordinating activities, issuing timely communications, identifying stakeholders, etc. to ensure prompt identification of impacted products, disposition, & corrective action
• Leading supplier development and qualification activities for new products and cost reduction efforts. This includes identification of project risks and mitigating actions, managing project schedules, approval of supplier process documents, process capability analyses, measurement system analyses, input to design for manufacturability, etc.

Who you are:
• Bachelor Degree or higher in Engineering
• 3-4 years of progressive experience in engineering/manufacturing
• Experience leading or supporting cross functional projects
• Proficient at Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
• Experience authoring technical documents or operating procedures
• Ability to read drawings and specifications made to ASME standards
• Experience with nuclear products and standards desired
• Experience with supplier or contract management desired
• Project Management experience desired
• Proficiency at Microsoft Project and Teams desired
• Effective communication with different disciplines and functions
• Respectful negotiation and conflict resolution
• Proactive approach to work / risk management
• Results oriented and self-driven
• Questioning attitude and continual interest to learn and develop
