The selected candidate will work within the Advanced Reactor Testing group supporting research and development activities for the eVinci microreactor test program. The candidate will work primarily at the Waltz Mill site, with occasional travel to the Cranberry HQ and Churchill locations.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Assist the Advanced Reactor Testing group in the planning and execution of prototyping, manufacturing, and testing programs in support of the eVinci microreactor design.
  • This includes development, tracking, and communication of schedule and budget for existing and new scopes of work.
  • Create purchase requisitions to order raw material and components based on material and component specifications.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Work with technical teams to understand challenges and provide input to the development of efficient solutions
  • Support continued expansion and build-out of eVinci manufacturing operations and facilities at the Waltz Mill and Churchill sites.
  • Assist technical and program management leaders to create and execute production plans and schedules that balance available capacity/equipment and resources.
  • Support supply chain and mitigate delivery issues, reporting shortages and recovery programs to meet the plan throughout project life cycle, manage the impact and escalate issues.
  • Develop effective working relationships across organizational boundaries and with Customers
  • Capture lessons learned at work package closeout and implement best practices
  • Understand and leverage Westinghouse expertise across different functional disciplines and global work locations
  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills to interface with peers and management, including delivering presentations and regular updates to internal and external stakeholders
  • Drive results while exhibiting flexibility and adaptability to lead efforts in support of critical path schedule activities for project milestones, while concurrently managing many tasks
  • Ensure process compliance through the use of company standard systems, processes and reports.
  • Support continuous improvement activities for planning, control, inventory, production, and delivery lead times.
  • As appropriate, support hands-on fabrication and assembly of test fixtures and equipment.
  • Travel requirements: 10-20% as needed

Who You Are:
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 1 - 5 years experience in project-based laboratory/testing or production/manufacturing environment
  • Proficient with project planning and budgeting tools (e.g. MS Project)
  • Proficient with MS Word and Excel
  • Experience in production planning & control.
  • Familiar with procurement processes and vendor oversight/management
  • Communicates well with others to convey information effectively.
  • Familiar with reading drawings, schematics, and specifications
  • Mechanical problem-solving skills a plus.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, and attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter.
  • Good judgment and the ability to prioritize a number of diverse tasks.
  • Orientation towards achieving Customer Success.
  • Effective communication, teaming, and team building skills.
