Sr Applications Systems Analyst -Radiation Oncology.

The primary purpose of the Senior Application Analyst position is to provide technical expertise in the activities of complex software application design, implementation, issue resolution and support; design and development complex solutions through business needs assessment; and contribute to the establishment of standards and processes for multi-solutions required for Radiation Treatment Planning, Imaging, Quality Assurance and Treatment within MD Anderson's Main Campus, Proton Therapy Center, Global Sites, and Regional Care Centers.

Develop and participate in special projects within Radiation Oncology, working closely with IS Infrastructure Teams, and RadOnc Customers
1.Document application requirements and identify correlation with treatment planning, Q/A, and Radiation Treatment.
2.Identify operational requirements for server-based applications.
3.Identify software dependencies with the treatment planning and delivery systems.
4.Implement approved applications to serve the needs of end-users as required.
5.Ensure operational integrity for Radiation Oncology treatment planning, imaging, quality assurance, and treatment delivery systems post application upgrade, enhancement, and installation.
6.Develop and maintain application system documentation, operational procedures, and configuration documentation.
7.Utilize installed technology to introduce additional and/or enhanced functionality to bring efficiency in the work place for end-users, co-workers.
8.Assist manager and co-workers in analyzing and integrating technical needs of the IS group to provide efficiencies in Radiation Oncology with projects in clinical, administrative, and research areas.
9.Work with manager to prepare annual and project-oriented status reports.
10.Ensure compliance with institutional and Radiation Oncology policies and software licenses.
11.Participate in studies of proposed software and hardware updates and make recommendations to supervisor.
12.Follow up with users to determine post-implementation satisfaction.
13.Work collaboratively with the IS Division on hardware / software configuration, governance processes, operational support needs to ensure the institutional and division of radiation oncology needs are met.
14.Follow institutional policy and procedures related to Information Technology.

Participate in installation, documentation, monitoring, and support of Radiation Oncology network server-based applications and support activities. Provide training and assistance to Applications Support Analysts in their support roles.
1.Evaluate, obtain approval and funding, implement, and maintain software applications running on Division of Radiation Oncology servers.
2.Define, Maintain and administer application level security working closely with Radiation Oncology Administration.
3.Implement new functionality utilizing tools available from systems vendors to monitor infrastructure integrity.
4.Provide problem resolution for Radiation Oncology treatment planning, imaging, quality assurance, and delivery applications managed by this team.
5.Develop expertise on treatment planning, Q\A, and delivery applications commonly used in Radiation Oncology and their interaction with other solutions.
6.Document, present, and confirm understanding of standard procedures for the installation and support of common issues with the applications supported by this team.
7.Performance tuning and management of interfaces between treatment planning, imaging, quality assurance, and treatment delivery applications to IS managed systems.
8.Follow institutional policy and procedures related to Information Technology. Work with application owners to ensure security and backup systems are in compliance.
9. Systems integrated by EHR Radiation Oncology include:
- Mosaiq record and verify software, Mosaiq ESI systems interface and Mosaiq Namer applications.
- Raysearch "Raystation" Treatment planning systems application delivery management.
- Treatment planning systems (Gammaplan, Nucletron, Pinnacle, Eclipse) application deployment management and integration with Mosaiq where applicable.

Citrix Application Administration and Performance Management of Clinical Applications running within the Citrix Environment
1.Identify solution needs for customers and work with IT Engineering teams to adapt the or upgrade citrix to support the need.
2.Identify and configure additional applications to be used within the Citrix environment.
3.Troubleshooting/Break-Fix issues

Manage integrity and configuration of HL7 interfaces between EHR systems and EHR Radiation Oncology Managed applications.
1.Implement new functionality utilizing tools available from systems vendors and MD Anderson IS to monitor infrastructure integrity.
2.Provide problem resolution for Radiation Oncology EHR system interfaces.
3.Performance tuning and management of interfaces to IS managed systems.
4. Monitor and correct interface issues arising from system or end user errors.

Other duties as assigned

Education Required:
Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Education:
Master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, Healthcare Administration or related field.

Experience Required:
Five years experience in domain, analysis, design, project management, Epic software or programming. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.

Preferred Experience:
Eight years of progressive IT experience with five years' experience within Radiation Oncology.
