MD Anderson is embarking on a data-centric journey towards ensuring robust data stewardship. This includes a data governance and provenance framework that delivers a world-leading implementation of the data and metadata supply chain that increases the capacity to leverage high quality, harmonized data in a large academic health science setting that support MD Anderson's mission.

REMOTE POSITION: Must live in Texas

Robust data stewardship encompasses the appropriate use of, protection of and minimization of risk associated with the data assets at our institution. This includes the development of an accountability for maintaining a secure inventory of existing and emerging data assets achieved by close partnership between the Chief Data Officer (CDO) and the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Data security team will coordinate closely with the cybersecurity team, legal and compliance teams, sourcing and contracts and other business units to refine and execute on processes that minimize the risks for the data assets and associated value.

Risk Advisory Services Program Support
Provide project workgroup teams data security guidance and awareness
Provide related workpapers accordingly: (meeting agendas, meetings notes, recommendations, issues/actions tracking, project artifacts, etc)

Customer Service Request Programs Support
Coordinate with information security risk advisory services program and supporting workflows.
Demonstrate Advisory Engagement Work papers: (meeting agendas, meeting notes, issues tracking, recommendations, other project related artifacts, etc.) in support of customer data risk assessments / engagements / cross-functional work groups.
Support OneIS Division GRC Compliance for application risk assessments / systems, 21 CFR Part 11 related applications, and Tier 2 & 3 applications, and track/support related metric reporting.
Support ongoing partnership with the Sourcing & Contracts performing software review/clear to purchase around the data terms of vendor contracts, rider 114 & 118 review / clearance process work flow; IRB protocol study review/clear to activate, and OneIS interdepartmental collaborative partnership aimed at continuous improvement initiatives.

Process Improvement
Actively contribute to the departmental Anderson Award Goals.
Participate in, or facilitate in a department or service line process improvement or the Technology and Innovation division process improvement initiative.
Contribute to RM process improvement initiative focused on Risk team customer service.
Contribute to the departmental metrics development initiative and success.

Education Required:
Bachelor's degree in Data Governance, Data Management, Computer Information Systems, Business Information Systems, Computer or Data Science or related field.

Certification Required:

Preferred Certification:
Security +, CRISC, CISSP

Experience Required:
Two years of experience in one or more information security domains, to include managing security technologies and/or programs and developing information security standards and procedures. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
