The Director of technology is the Optum PNW technology owner responsible for end-to-end technology, product strategy and technology lifecycle management, including strategy, design, development, management and end of life of new, existing or acquisition products and solutions.

The key to this role is building relationships and defining work strategies, developing technology, business and clinical partnerships to bring the market together. This also includes end to end technology strategy and execution post M&A technology integration.

You will represent PacWest technology serving as Optum PNW technology owner driving product coordination including finance reporting and coordination - demand planning, communication, serving as business product liaison across all domains.

The ideal candidate will have the right balance between technology, product, operations, strategy, management and execution.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Communicate product perspective to stakeholders; provide direction to project teams and resources that align with product and stakeholder agendas to reinforce on time delivery of programs)
  • Serve as a technology evangelist among cross-functional stakeholders and leadership to ensure buy-in of priorities and maximize overall value of product and portfolio
  • Leverage end user and customer insights to understand market/customer needs to identify new opportunities or make adjustments to current process offerings
  • Customer centricity is key in this role building strong relationships across business and technology
  • Ensure product and technology solutions are managed to support business strategies, often working across all levels of the organization
  • There is a strong focus on data, analytics, digital as well as risk & quality
  • This role leads the definition of vision, metrics and reporting, directing the integration of technical aspects of all related projects/programs
  • Leading and conducting analyses, needs assessments, and cost/benefit assessments as well as helping to broker other technology services
  • Monitoring financials to ensure budget compliance will be key to successful delivery and execution in this role
  • Lead and assist in the removal of hurdles which could negatively impact productivity, project timelines or the customer experience
  • Perform all related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of IT/technology experience
  • 7+ years of experience managing technology and product roadmaps
  • 7+ experience in oversight, design and development of end to end product view and workflows; drive integration strategies and approaches
  • 7+ years of experience representing stakeholder needs for prioritization, planning and strategic direction of products - understand and drive the product management lifecycle
  • 7+ years of experience in project, program and portfolio management
  • 7+ years of experience in data strategy, analytics & interoperability
  • 7+ years of experience in Digital Health, Risk, and Quality domains
  • 7+ years of experience in managing and overseeing financial management of product and product portfolios. Product related profit and loss optimization (revenue, operational cost, etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience in leading and managing direct or indirect resources in a matrixed environment, that support assets and projects
  • 7+ years of demonstrable experience on defining product strategy, journey mapping, product gap analysis, roadmap, requirements and translate into artifacts that drive technology and product management
  • 7+ years of experience with verbal and written communication to produce requirements into user stories to drive product development and provide product demonstrations for internal and external stakeholders including senior management
  • 5+ years of experience in defining the vision, goals (OKRs), benefits and then track KPI’s to measure success/outcome
  • 3+ years of experience in traditional and agile frameworks & tools (e.g. MS Project, AHA!)
  • Travel 25% as needed

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $113,500 to $218,100. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $113,500 to $218,100.
