The Per Diem Nurse:
Provides for the management and provision of patient care.
Collaborates with physicians, patient and patient's family to provide care and evaluate outcomes.
Communicates with assigned multidisciplinary team and assure continuity of care.
Assesses patient's needs for nursing care and demonstrates clinical competency and compassion in providing care, using technology, administering medications, performing procedures and managing emergencies.
Documents care according to established standards. Accesses, inputs and retrieves information from computer systems. Provides continuum of care through appropriate discharge planning, patient education and coordination of services.
Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
One year of relevant clinical nursing experience.
Licensure / Certification Required:
Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Preferred Licensure / Certification:
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification as required by patient care area.
