MD Anderson's Institute for Data Science in Oncology (IDSO) aims to unlock the power of our data to enable impactful change through data science. This goal will be achieved by taking a truly multidisciplinary approach that recruits talent from across fields to convene the necessary cultural exchanges, cross-discipline educational programs, partnership with leading academic and industry organizations with expertise in modeling and data science. Building growing collaborations with our clinical experts and research teams who will help drive forward the critical challenges and research questions we need to tackle and leveraging a strengthening data supply chain, the IDSO will develop novel methods, generate groundbreaking insights and train the next generation of clinicians, researchers and data scientists in oncology. The IDSO will also support the development of data science capabilities in support of the operations, quality, and safety priorities of MD Anderson.

This individual will be responsible for managing the overall activities and coordination of the IDSO. This includes providing operational management and coordination of the research and development activities for the IDSO. In addition, this individual will be responsible for the day-to-day administrative management of research activities, budget oversight as well as longer term program development and planning, tracking and reporting of milestones and outcomes of the program, and management of finances. The individual will coordinate, and engage in discussions with, with senior leaders within the IDSO and across MD Anderson to help drive the IDSO's strategic planning and day-to-day activities.

Coordinate and support communication and alignment across IDSO leaders through the shaping of the strategic plan and providing consistent updates on the execution metrics.
Assist in development and execution of the IDSO strategic plan, including development of the organizational framework and defining the measurable goals with KPIs and timelines to deliver on IDSO objectives.
Contact point; develop documents; organize projects; follow up on action items; develop and manage budget; coordinate with operations and budget on managing finances; prepares progress reports; slides for reporting.
Coordinate strategic discussions and activities between the IDSO, internal stakeholders and potential/existing industry collaborators.

Assist in presentation content and coordinate communications and interactions with stakeholders (e.g. orientation of objectives, progress updates):
Internal Stakeholders (e.g. CSO, Strategy, Development, IS, Innovation, CDO)
Faculty
External partners - academic and industry
External advisors

Support the Data Science Talent Faculty Recruitment Committee in their processes and review reporting.
Support the pipeline management of potential IDSO technologies from external (industry or academic) collaborators or internal stakeholders.

Bachelor's Degree

Master's Level Degree

Experience Required
Five years project/program management experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience.

Preferred Experience
Three years of experience in an academic and/or academic healthcare setting.
Experience using formal project management methodologies, techniques and tools.
Experience in external collaborations or partnership management.
