Sr Architecture Analyst - VDI - Telecommute

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design and engineer modern Windows 10 golden images for all VDI environments
  • Upgrade to Horizon 8 in multiple critical VDI environments
  • Work with the VDI team to refine and implement logging, alerting, and monitoring
  • Communicate effectively with Service Reliability Engineers and DevOps team
  • Strong focus on vSphere capacity planning and performance tools

Basic Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • Working in a Healthcare virtualized environment
  • 5+ years Supporting the desktop OS along with security tools and third party agents
  • 5+ years supporting and upgrading VMware Suite of products
  • 3+ years designing and deploying Windows Templates for VDI
  • 3+ years configuring scalable and high availability persistent and non-persistent VDI Pools
  • Proficient use of scripting technologies (PowerShell, PowerCLI)
  • Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
  • Experience maintaining Unified Access Gateways (UAG)
  • Experience with Logging & Monitoring tools such as Grafana, or an equivalent
  • Architecture and management of VMware Horizon 8, vSphere, vROPS/vRA

Preferred Qualifications

  • Virtualization experience including VMWare vSphere, Microsoft Server and Microsoft Windows 10
  • Proficient use PowerShell/PowerCLI to manage virtual machines templates and virtual infrastructure
  • Strong experience with automation and operations
  • Energetic self-starter with a positive/flexible attitude
  • Communication at all levels and the ability to write strong technical documentation
  • VMware certification(s) in the areas of Horizon, vSphere, or vRealize
  • Experience in coding (Ruby, Python)
  • Log indexing tools (e.g. Splunk)
  • Automation/ configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, Terraform
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 services
  • Development experience with REST API

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
