The Part Time Oncology Clinical Pharmacist will focus on providing evidence - based and clinical guidance to help implement a next - generation comprehensive specialty and oncology solutions which will successfully meet clinical, quality, and financial performance objectives. This solution will help ensure providers deliver high - quality, evidence-based and cost - efficient specialty and oncology care for our clients. As such, this newly created role requires an innovative, hands - on, action - oriented clinical expert. The position will serve as a key Oncology medicine expert dedicated to helping ensure high levels of quality, affordability, and member and provider satisfaction.

Schedule: Core schedule is 32 hours per week. Full time 40 hours per week required for training to the end of February 2023. You will go into your Core schedule of 32 hours per week starting March 1, 2023. Ability to flex up to 40 hours per week every January and February required. Monthly weekend rotations required starting in January. Multiple schedule options available.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support utilization review determinations for cancer populations, and broader case and disease management teams to achieve optimal clinical outcomes
  • Provide clinical guidance in the creation, implementation and refinement of an Oncology utilization management solution
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in evidence - based medical guidelines and help ensure all clinical relevant policies and processes are informed by the best available evidence
  • Dosage-based reviews
  • Preservice Chemotherapy Reviews
  • Post-auto-approval documentation audits
  • Initial Onboarding and Ongoing Oncology Training
  • Lead MD Clinical Audits
  • Clinical education
  • NCCN Digitization
  • Evaluate clinical and other data (e.g., quality metrics, claims & health record data, utilization data) to identify opportunities for improvement of clinical care and processes

Required Qualifications:

  • Licensed Pharmacist with PharmD. License must be in state of residence, current and unrestricted
  • 5+ years clinical pharmacy experience
  • 2+ years of experience administering and/or advising on chemotherapy treatment plans (utilizing/reviewing medical case notes, medication list, lab results)
  • Experience in utilization management
  • Experience working with evidence-based medicine related to Oncology (e.g., NCCN guidelines)
  • Dedicated workspace from home
  • Access to high speed internet from home (Broadband Cable, DSL or Fiber)
  • Ability to work the schedule listed in the job description

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP)
  • Solid working knowledge of other cancer treatment plans (e.g., radiation therapy)
  • Experience working in managed care, medical care delivery systems, utilization management, case management, disease management, quality management, product development and/or peer review
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to gain credibility, influence and partner with other oncology professionals

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The hourly range for Colorado residents is $39.47 to $70.63. The hourly range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $43.51 to $77.69.
