Responsibilities

In consultation with the Labor Relations team, you will analyze labor relations issues that are moderate in scope and complexity to develop effective and appropriate strategies for resolution. You will prepares reports concerning the type and frequency of problems and their solutions and will support the organization during labor actions.

As our Labor Relations Analyst, you will also support Labor Relations Managers during negotiations, including, but not limited to, reviewing proposals; providing input on bargaining strategy; tracking proposals, notes, and sign-in sheets; and managing requests for release time. You will provide administrative support to the LR Advocate including but not limited to scheduling arbitrations / hearing and gathering and organizing information/data in preparation for arbitrations and hearing.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience working in a Human Resources setting
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both speaking and writing.
  • Skill in writing concise, logical, grammatically correct analytical correspondence and reports.
  • Oral communication skill sufficient to exchange complex and sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated ability to appropriately handle confidential and sensitive information and/or documents.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner when faced with changes in workload, changes in assignment, deadline pressures, competing priorities and heavy workload.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Proficiency in learning and using other types of databases (i.e. SharePoint, case management tracking, etc.)
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws regarding employment-related matters.
  • Working knowledge of the University Personnel Policies, collective bargaining agreements and other administrative policies and procedures strongly preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of entities across the organization.
