Stuart House Counselor
Responsibilities
Stuart House is an internationally recognized model programcreated by the Rape Treatment Center to serve the special needs of sexually
abused children and their families. Stuart House provides evidence-based,
trauma informed, and culturally centered therapeutic services.
As a Stuart House counselor, you will provide psychotherapy
services for children who are suspected victims of sexual abuse and their
non-offending family members, including intake evaluations, comprehensive
diagnostic assessments, crisis intervention, and individual, family, and group
treatment services. You will also participate in the Rape Treatment
Center/Stuart House 24-hour on-call response system, provide on-call telephone
intake, in-person advocacy, crisis intervention, accompaniment and
information/referral services for victims and significant others who present
for emergency medical care/forensic examinations.Qualifications
- Requires a Master's in Social Work and
California license-eligible. - Must have experience providing trauma informed psychotherapy
services to children who are suspected victims of sexual abuse and their
families. - Requires advanced knowledge of child development, sexual trauma, complex
trauma, evidence-based treatment modalities, and solid diagnostic and crisis
intervention skills. - Must be able to function collaboratively as a team member
and establish effective communication with clients and staff. - Bilingual
(Spanish-English) is strongly preferred.
