Stuart House Counselor
created by the Rape Treatment Center to serve the special needs of sexually
abused children and their families. Stuart House provides evidence-based,
trauma informed, and culturally centered therapeutic services.
As a Stuart House counselor, you will provide psychotherapy
services for children who are suspected victims of sexual abuse and their
non-offending family members, including intake evaluations, comprehensive
diagnostic assessments, crisis intervention, and individual, family, and group
treatment services. You will also participate in the Rape Treatment
Center/Stuart House 24-hour on-call response system, provide on-call telephone
intake, in-person advocacy, crisis intervention, accompaniment and
information/referral services for victims and significant others who present
for emergency medical care/forensic examinations.Qualifications
- Requires a Master's in Social Work and
- Must have experience providing trauma informed psychotherapy
services to children who are suspected victims of sexual abuse and their
- Requires advanced knowledge of child development, sexual trauma, complex
trauma, evidence-based treatment modalities, and solid diagnostic and crisis
- Must be able to function collaboratively as a team member
and establish effective communication with clients and staff.
