We are seeking to hire a Staff Research
Assistant to join the Clinical Trial Unit (CTU) to support clinical research
concerning breast cancer. This will involve handling of protected health
information to build and maintain clinical databases. Primary duties include:

  • Responsible for assisting in the preparation, submission, data management and record-keeping for research protocols
  • Assisting with the compilation and submission of data
  • Assisting with the monitoring of patient and institutional study compliance
  • Maintaining effective data flow between study staff and sponsors
  • Provide technical support in the research laboratory including collecting biospecimens, processing, storing specimens, and preparing cell cultures under the direction of the laboratory researcher.

Ability to work on projects independently,
accurately and using sound statistical judgment
Knowledge of research design, protocol
development, statistical theory and methodology
Ability to generate text, figures, and
tables suitable for publication in peer-reviewed journals and/or
presentation at scientific conferences
Specimen management in lab
Demonstrated computer skills including
word-processing, use of spreadsheets and data entry
Ability to understand and correctly use
technical terminology, correctly identify and extract data, enter data on
flow sheets or in computer and maintain study records
Skill and experience in operating office
machines including hospital based computer systems
Skill in prioritizing assignments to
complete work in a timely and accurate manner
Ability to maintain clinical trial case
report forms and other reports based on study guidelines
