Responsibilities

The Portfolio Management Office (PMO) is an integral part of DGSOM and plays a significant role in advancing quality, internal and external customer satisfaction, and profitability by leading the enterprise-wide implementation of projects/programs closing strategic gaps and advancing DGSOM's mission, vision and strategic goals & objectives. Using Agile project management methods as
an alternative to traditional methodologies, the Senior Scrum Master and Agile Coach will lead teams and scrum masters to drive organizational change. The goal of the Agile Coach & Sr. Scrum Master will be to improve overall project management efforts by increasing collaboration, innovation, and introducing techniques that promote adaptability and flexibility in the face of
unpredictable circumstances.

Under general supervision of the Executive Director of PMO, you will be responsible for transitioning the project
management of all cross-functional IT initiatives to lean-agile methodologies (approx. 140 people, $15M annual operating expense, $19M including all 3 Health Science schools). This includes the overall implementation and performance of DGSOM
IT Agile transformation. You will be responsible for cross-functional planning and execution of the Agile transformation initiative in collaboration with the DGSOM Dean's Office, DGSOM IT (DGIT) and in alignment with DGSOM's vision and strategic plan. The ideal
candidate will have experience leading organizational change initiatives, high-performing cross-functional software development project teams, coaching the use of best practice Agile frameworks including Scrum, Kanban, Release planning, and other methodologies to deliver high-value high-impact results. You will also have experience coaching Executive and Senior Leaders in lean-agile thinking, and garnering support at all levels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's
    Degree in Finance, Business Administration, IT, or Data/Computer Sciences strongly preferred
  • Minimum
    of 5 years' experience as Project Manager, Program Manager, Scrum Master, or
    Consultant
  • Have at least
    5 years' experience as a servant leader to engineering teams in an agile
    organization
  • Agile Certifications (CSM, A-CSM, Large-Scale Scrum, ICP-ATF, Agile
    Certified Coach)
  • Experience in providing customized coaching
    and training for teams, scrum masters, product owners and leadership in Agile
    Frameworks and Methodologies
  • Experience developing and maintaining
    standard project documentation, backlog refinement, sprint goals, team
    metrics and adherence to Software Development Lifecycle Lean-Agile best
    practice standards
  • Experience in leading and managing large, complex
    enterprise-level projects consisting of multiple agile and/or project/program
    teams and/or requiring integration with other activities outside the scope of
    the agile project/program teams, setting program/product/platform strategic
    vision and roadmap
  • Experience in designing practices and process that support
    the way people work
  • Experience in helping teams improve
    their approach to enable more frequent delivery and feedback loops
  • Advanced knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, and other agile tools.
  • Experience as a 'leader' able to influence and motivate individuals
    to achieve outcomes even when they do not have a direct reporting
    relationship
  • Experience defining program, project, & portfolio management
    standards.
