The Role at a Glance
The Senior Associate, Annuity/RPS Model Development, will play an integral role focused on developing industry-leading model capabilities and collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure our models are optimized to deliver on a broad array of critical business needs.What you'll be doing:
- Design and build models to support critical business processes, including Stat, GAAP, and Tax Reserve reporting, Asset Adequacy Testing, Asset/Liability Management, and Economic Capital.
- Gain a thorough understanding of existing models and their applications. Make recommendations to improve future models and deliver on the execution of those improvements.
- Collaborate on the development of end user tools to support model validation and analysis.
- Ensure proper documentation and validation of model developments and enhancements.
- Support business requirements, validation, testing, and documentation for conversion of models across actuarial modeling platforms.
What we're looking for:
- 7-10 years of actuarial experience
- Substantial experience with annuity products
- Strong understanding of regulatory/accounting/capital frameworks (STAT/GAAP/Tax, RBC, EC)
- Understanding of capital markets and financial instruments (assets and derivatives) that support the products we sell
- Actuarial modeling and/or valuation experience, preferably in MG-ALFA, GGY-AXIS, or comparable actuarial modeling software
- Excellent communication skills
- Works well in a team environment
- Competency with R, Python, SQL, and/or Excel VBA
- Experience working with business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau)
- Familiarity with modern data science approaches
