The Technician/Technologist Customer Service Rep will be responsible for communicating with our Hospital clientele, answering incoming calls, providing requested information, researching and resolving problems, finding sources for send-out testing, working with minor interface issues, and working closely with other departments in the laboratory. Prior technical laboratory experience strongly preferred and must be available to rotate weekends/holidays and evenings/nights as required. This is a temporary remote/work from home position during the pandemic (subject to change) and will require residence in the Houston, TX area upon start date.

Schedule: Monday to Friday (9:30am-6:30pm CST)

Requirements:

  • Requires an Associate Degree in Medial Lab Technology or Equivalent; OR BA/BS degree in Medical Lab Science, Biology, Chemistry or related life science
  • Prior experience as an MLT or MT strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology used in a clinical setting strongly preferred
  • Experience working in a contact center/call center environment is preferred
  • Prior healthcare industry, such as a physician's office or a hospital highly is a plus
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite is required
  • Experience with Laboratory Information Systems is preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent ability to listen and respond
  • Must be courteous with strong customer service orientation
  • Excellent multitasking abilities required
  • Strong flexibility and the ability to manage and adapt to changing priorities quickly
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish highly desirable
