We are seeking a candidate specializing in molecular biology to work in the BioMedicine Design (BMD) line of the Medicinal Sciences Organization. In this role, the candidate will apply molecular and chemical biology approaches to accelerate and improve mRNA biotherapeutic platforms. The candidate will work with other members within the RNA therapeutics group in BMD to support the biotherapeutics portfolios across Pfizer.

What You Will Achieve
  • Provide molecular biology support for the development of mRNA biotherapeutic platforms

  • Provide mammalian cell culture support for assay development

  • Provide next-gen sequencing support for assay development and validation

  • Work with senior group members to strategize best approaches for technology development

  • Successful candidate will be involved in the design and execution of projects with the ability to operate independently.

What you'll experience
  • Work on the cutting-edge of mRNA therapeutics discovery efforts

  • Develop skills in interrogating RNA sequence/structure and function relationships

  • Engage in science that changes the world

  • BS/MS degree with 2-3 years of experience in the area of molecular biology/ RNA biology

  • Extensive hands-on experience with a wide range of molecular biology techniques, including basic DNA cloning

  • Some experience in mammalian cell culture and flow cytometry-based analyses

  • Strong communication skills, written and oral and ability to work in team.

  • Some programing experience for basic analysis of NGS data would be preferred

  • Previous experience with HPLC/SEC would be desirable

  • Previous experience in mRNA is not required but should demonstrate learning skills
